Disintermediation

The supply chain of product generally begins from the manufacturer to the customer and every businesses operating in between them are called the intermediaries. In physical stores product pass from different intermediaries such as wholesalers and retailers before arriving into customers’ hand. But in online shopping intermediaries are not really needed as products are can usually be directly shipped to the customer’s home. That is what we call disintermediation.
